7th ICMASS Symposium

  • 21/05/2025
  • Ulsan, South Korea

The International Conference on Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship (ICMASS) is the leading international conference on maritime autonomous surface ships. ICMASS presents current and ground-breaking research and other activities undertaken by industry and academia, from all around the world. This includes development, test and approval of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships technology. While the eighth ICMASS conference will take place in Germany in the fall of 2025, a more industrial oriented symposium will take place in Korea in May 21 to May 23, 2025. This is a part of the ICMASS program and will focus on the industrial and international collaboration issues as a part of the International Network for Autonomous Ship (INAS) cooperation. The format of the symposium will be high-level interaction and information exchanges among MASS researchers and industrial developers. Speaker slots will be longer than for the ICMASS conference and more time will be allocated to discussions after presentations. This will also include panel discussions and a higher focus on practical industrial applications when speakers are selected. This symposium is 3-days symposium with presentation only. It will provide an interactive forum for discussion on recent and ongoing developments, key issues and challenges, and practices related to innovative applications in MASS systems. Authors that are interested in the publication of original research and application papers can submit these for peer review after the symposium. Accepted papers will be published together with other peer reviewed papers from the 8th ICMASS conference in the fall of 2025. Papers will be published openly through the IOP conference series and indexed in the major online databases. The symposium will also include local tours to provide insight into MASS and smart port activities in Korea.
