SEAMLESS Launches Webinar Series on the Future of Autonomous and Digital Inland Waterway Transport
- 29/05/2025
The SEAMLESS project is pleased to announce the launch of its introductory webinar, taking place online on 5 June 2025, at 10 AM. This event marks the beginning of a dedicated webinar series aimed at exploring the technological and strategic innovations driving the future of autonomous and digitalized inland waterway transport (IWT) in Europe.
This first session will provide a comprehensive overview of the SEAMLESS project’s structure, key objectives, and its role in enabling a smarter and more sustainable logistics ecosystem. Led by NTUA, SEAMLESS is developing cutting-edge technologies, including autonomous vessel systems and real-time digital logistics platforms, to improve the efficiency and environmental performance of European inland and short sea shipping.
The webinar will also introduce the project’s two Demonstration Use Cases:
-
DUC1, coordinated by SINTEF Ocean, focuses on port and terminal automation in Northern Europe.
-
DUC2, led by ZULU Associates, is centered on modular vessel operations and real-time coordination of inland waterway logistics in Central Europe.
Attendees will gain valuable insights into how each technical component contributes to the wider SEAMLESS vision, as well as an overview of the upcoming sessions in the webinar series.
