SEAMLESS logistics research showcased by DST on international stage
- 19/09/2025
Last week, the global waterborne research community gathered in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, to exchange knowledge on the latest developments in research, innovation, and policy.
SEAMLESS was represented on site through the active contributions of our partners at DST: Marvin Budde (Dept. of Logistics and Transportation) and Dr. Frédéric Etienne Kracht (Dept. of Autonomous Navigation). Together, they presented key SEAMLESS research on automated mooring systems, alongside insights from the CoboTank project on automated cargo handling for inland tank vessels, contributed to the InCom WG 262 “Remote Operated IW Navigation”, joined activities of the international PIANC Young Professionals Community and the German PIANC Section (PIANC D), and engaged in valuable discussions and networking with researchers from around the world.
Overall, it was a remarkable week on the Mississippi, with nearly 500 participants and around 200 presentations offering fresh perspectives, inspiring dialogue, and a strong platform to share SEAMLESS research with the international community.
