SEAMLESS at ECONSHIP 2026: comparing automated waterborne transport concepts

SEAMLESS research will be featured at the 3rd European Conference on Shipping, Intermodalism & Ports (ECONSHIP 2026), taking place from 23 to 25 September 2026 in Chios, Greece.
The conference brings together researchers and experts to discuss developments and challenges across shipping, intermodal transport and port operations, providing a valuable setting for exchanging knowledge on the future of maritime transport.
On Thursday, 24 September, from 16:30 to 17:45, the paper “Comparing Automated Waterborne Transport Concepts: An Integrated Economic and Operational Study” will be presented during Session 24 – “Automation & Port Operations”, in the Ikonio Conference Room.
Authored by Anastasiya Azarko, Angeliki Stouraiti, Vladislav Maraš, Cyril Alias, Jonas zum Felde and Harilaos N. Psaraftis, the paper explores automated waterborne transport concepts from an integrated economic and operational perspective, contributing to the wider SEAMLESS work towards more efficient and automated waterborne transport solutions.
Harilaos N. Psaraftis will present the paper and share its findings with the ECONSHIP 2026 audience.
